Mary did you know?

The song “Mary did you know?” really struck me on a new level this year…

Mary – did she understand the significance of the child she was carrying? Did she realize that she would also be delivered from the very child that she would deliver? Romans 3:23 says that “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”. ALL have sinned and fall short of God’s glory…Mary included. We all are in need of a Savior!

Jesus – His birth was prophesied and Christmas came. Mary’s Savior…our Savior came. Praise God for giving us His Son! We have an eternal hope because of You Jesus.

Merry Christmas everyone!! Blessings to you and yours on this very special day – the birthday of our Savior.

Jesus…the very best gift!!

Can you imagine how you would feel if you gave your child a gift and they turned around and asked you how they needed to repay you for it? You would think no, it’s a gift…no repayment needed. You gave the gift because you love your child and wouldn’t think of giving a gift and expecting repayment for it!

That’s exactly how God felt when He sent Jesus! He gave us His Son Jesus for absolutely  free…no strings attached as a gift to us that have faith, His children, so that we could have everlasting life with Him. We are saved by grace through faith if we will accept that gift of His Son Jesus that He has freely given to us. There is nothing He expects in return; no works required by us. In fact, Romans 11:6 says this “But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace.”

After we have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior and put our faith in Him, we are saved…period, end of story. There is nothing else required to KEEP our salvation. God’s gift of grace through our faith is enough.

He gave us this gift because He loves us…no repayment needed, no works by us needed.

Thank you Father for loving us and allowing us to have a relationship with You through Your Son Jesus. Thank You that my salvation is not up to me, that I don’t have to worry about being good enough, that it’s not about my works…but about my relationship with Your Son Jesus. Jesus…Truly, the very best gift ever!!

Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved by faith. And this is not your own doing, it is a gift from God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”

Paid in full!

If I was to ask you right now if you know that you are going to heaven when you die – what would you say?

Could you definitively answer yes? I can! I have been saved by God’s grace through my faith in Jesus Christ!! Thank You Jesus!!!

There is no such thing as dying with sin on your soul if you have put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior and repented (that is, turn away from your sin and turn back to God). Jesus paid for ALL sin…our past, present AND future sin when He died on the cross for us. There is no need for penance…Jesus has already paid the  price.

There is no freedom greater than that of knowing that although the physical body dies, your spirit will forever live eternally in Heaven with your Creator, your Redeemer, your Savior!

Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe…

Romans 6:23 ” For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God”

Romans 10:9-10 “because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”

Sharing your hope…

For those of us that know Jesus, we have hope because we know that we have a Lord and Savior that loves us, is looking out for us, that goes before us and with whom we will spend eternity with. Imagine what life is like for those people in the world that don’t have hope through Christ. They are lost, in despair, and looking for solutions to their problems in all the wrong places. Imagine a life with no hope…I honestly can’t anymore! I can’t imagine my life without Jesus in it and I don’t want to. So for those of us that know Jesus and know His hope…what are we doing to share that hope with others? What are we doing to share that hope with our hairstylist, with the barista at the coffee shop or with our co-workers?  In the words of the pastor at my church “WE are God’s plan A for sharing the Good News of Jesus…there is no plan B. We are the method He has chosen to spread that message of hope.”

So my question to you is: how can you share the message of hope with others? You are part of God’s plan A too…

Thank you Jesus that I have an eternal hope through Your redemptive work on the cross. Thank you that I have hope walking through everyday life because you are walking right beside me. Lord, please guide me to the people that don’t yet know You, prepare their hearts, and give me the courage to boldly proclaim the hope that I have through Jesus. Amen.
