Well, I guess it’s time to start that book…

If there is one lesson I have been learning lately – it is that we must be obedient to our God. In my obedience, I find blessings and in dis-obedience, I find confusion and struggle. I have still been struggling lately with how I am meant to share my (His) weight loss story. I have mentioned before about how The Lord has put it on my heart to share my story with others. I was reminded lately that the blessings He gives us are meant to be used to then bless others; we are to be a pass-through  entity. So I came back to the most recent blessing I have received – my weight loss. This reminder of how we are blessed so that we can bless others shifted everything back into focus. I have been focusing on a lot of things lately, none of them being how I can share my weight loss story. So I was visiting with my mom the other evening and she was telling me about a young pastor she was watching on TBN. He was saying how when you are praying for guidance and direction and you don’t seem to be getting any to go back to the last time you know you heard from God and were you obedient to His direction at that time? So I thought back to the last time I knew without a doubt I had heard from The Lord. It was probably about six months ago I was driving out of town by myself and was asking The Lord for guidance and He gave me the idea to write a book to share my weight loss story and even gave me the title, the picture for the front cover and the format in which to write it in. At the time I was completely blown away and so grateful for the guidance but I quickly let negative thoughts start to take over. “What do I know about writing a book?” “How could I write a book – it’s not like I took a bunch of notes while going through my weight loss.”  “Why would anyone want to read about MY story?” So I put it off and thought that there surely must be some other way to share my weight loss story without having to write a book. Wow, a few takeaways from the pastor on TBN but the biggest thing that hit me was: don’t go looking for guidance on something that He has already given you the answer to! He had pointed me in a direction and I had not been obedient to his request. I had been failing to remember a few important things:

-I need to be a pass-through for the blessing I have received

-I can do ALL things through Christ (Philippians 4:13)

-If He brought me to it, He’ll bring me through it

So Ok Lord – writing a book it is! I am putting my faith and trust in that you are going to help me write this book because I have no clue how to do it on my own. Give me the words Lord, give me the words!!

So a little bit ago I see a post on Facebook from the Joyce Meyer Ministries, it says:

“Procrastination is probably the most deceptive thing the devil has ever come up with. When God tells us to do something, unless He says do it tomorrow, God’s time is always now.”

Well, it looks like I have a book to start – right now. To God be the glory!

Thank you Lord Jesus for always putting me back on the path when I stray off; for bringing me back to you.

That tugging on your heart…

We receive the gift of The Holy Spirit in us when we believe and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. The Holy Spirit will guide us and help us but we have to be willing to listen and then act on what we have been guided to do. If you feel a tugging on your heart to do something; it might just be coming from The Holy Spirit. We so often let our minds, our insecurities, and our own desires get in the way of what The Lord really wants for us. We need to be bold! We need to put our trust in The Lord – He does know better than we do! Step out in faith and act when you feel that tugging!!

Galatians 5:25 “If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.”

Lord Jesus, thank you for giving me boldness to let go of the insecurities that keep me from realizing my full potential in you – you are such an awesome God!!!

What a life-changing experience!!!

I’m back home from Revive Twin Cities and just reflecting on the past couple of days. I am so very blessed!! I will be thinking about the experiences I’ve just had for the rest of my life – they were that life changing. I went out on one of the teams yesterday to share The Gospel. We ended up in a pretty tough neighborhood in St. Paul. One of the individuals The Lord led us to was a believer in Christ but was currently struggling with his faith. When we asked how we could pray for him he asked that we pray for is faith to be increased. I led our group in prayer to ask The Holy Spirit to rise up in this man and guide him back to Jesus and to fully equip him with the faith he needs to commit his life to Christ. When we were done praying we gave him a Bible. There was a gleam of excitement in his voice as he talked about sharing the new Bible we’d just given him with his children. I have no doubt that the simple act of some strangers coming up to him and asking if they could pray for him had just changed his life – The Lord led us to this man for a reason!! Wow, what an experience for our team to have been used as the hands, feet, and voice on the ground!!

Tuesday morning during prayer before all the teams went out, the worship team asked us to all get up from our chairs and while holding hands with your neighbors to make a circle. Folks, there were so many of us that the circle encompassed the entire perimeter if the football field we were on. I am telling you there is no better way to sing and worship our Lord than united in a way like that – what a powerful experience.

There were a lot of other experiences I could share with you but I’m already getting rather wordy. Needless to say, I can’t wait for it to be announced when and where the next Time To Revive event will be held at!!

For everyone reading this, I pray that The Lord will ignite a fire in you that will bring you to a new level in your own faith and give you boldness to get out of your current comfort level and in your own ways be the hands, the feet, and the voice for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In Jesus name, Amen.

Our God is so awesome!!!!

I am at Revive Twin Cities this week volunteering. In case you’ve never heard of it, Revive Twin Cities is an event going on in Minneapolis, MN right now to share The Gospel with those that have not yet accepted Jesus as their Savior. I am once again blown away by the sheer awesomeness of our God!!! His presence here is just AMAZING. The stories shared by the teams that went out today were filled with His presence. The Holy Spirit is leading them to the lost and there have been many saved already – praise The Lord!!! On a more personal level… He introduced me to a few people today that I know I was absolutely meant to meet. My husband also accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior today – another answered prayer!!!!!! Oh, and did I mention I got baptized??? Wow, what a fantastic day!!! Words just can’t quite describe… Revival IS happening – thank you Lord Jesus!!!

They are streaming the worship services live online at http://www.revivetwincities.org every evening this week at 7pm if you care to check it out – they are awesome!!!

Give it all away…

They say it’s all about who you know in life…EXACTLY!!!

There is seriously nothing better than having a real relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!!! I never had any concept of what I was missing before and how much darkness I was in until He shined His light on me. It’s truly amazing what happens when you change your focus to Him!! Put all your fears on Him, hand Him all your worries and hardships – give it ALL away. He WILL change you – I am proof.

Psalm 18:28 “For it is you who light my lamp; The Lord my God lightens my darkness.”

Stay on the path…

The Lord reminded me that there will be situations and thoughts that will come up that will try to derail you from the path that you are on but you must stay focused and continue on down the path you started on – it’s no less the right path to be on then when you decided to take it.

“Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you.” Proverbs 4:25
